Capri Cafaro Can Feel Your Pain from Afar

From today's ABJ story on Carpetbaggette running in the 13th:

Cafaro spokesman Vic Rubenstein said Cafaro has a home in Hubbard but recently
moved to the Lorain County village of Sheffield to live in the 13th District.
Until recently, Cafaro had been living in New York City.
No wait, here's my favorite part:

"Her No. 1 motivation for running is her desire to provide public service,''
Rubenstein said.
Oh, of course. That's what she's been doing in NYC, right? She's been working with the Northeast Ohio Service Committee. I believe their offices are on West 25th.

It's bad enough that someone wants to run her life's ambitions out of my district, does her flak really need to insult my intelligence in the process?

First Youngstown's answer to Victoria Gotti moves to Cuyahoga County to run in the 14th. Then she moves to NY, then to Lorain County to run in the 13th for 2006.

Perhaps we'd all benefit from Marcy Kaptur not running for re-election in 2008... than Capri could move to Toledo and run there. At least we wouldn't have to see her commercials on Cleveland TV.

Better yet, perhaps Representative Stephanie Herseth will not run for re-election in '08. Herseth, of course, if the representative for South Dakota.

Saveohio - Maybe my computer isn't working, but I can't seem to find the blog that is called SaveOhio and is listed on your Blogger.com profile.

Anyway, I've read several of the accounts of Ms. Cafaro's years since she left Ohio to study at Stanford and then work and study in Washington DC and although perhaps she has the right to say resident because she has property in the state, it would appear from her resume that she in fact has not "lived" in the state of Ohio (as most people who say they live here mean that expression) for quite some time. Some verification or statement directly from Ms. Cafaro would go a very long way in clearing up this confusion. Maybe you know how we could get that statement??

Thank you.

Its a wonder she finds the time to move to a new congressional district each election cycle with all that mob/corruption/bribery bagage she carries!

Nominating a candidate who's already taken an immunity deal in one federal bribery scandal would hardly help dems run a 'reform' campaign in 06. Not too mention the only reason she can even make a run is the suitcases full of shady money she brings with her. She's such a terrible candidate if she makes it out of the primary a R could carry the 13th...

Vote Capri,,,, the only politician the Cafaro's won't have to BRIBE. Her and her convicted felon father both make me sick. Say no to this spoiled rich bitch and criminal family.

"capri cafaro has a desire to support hard-working people from the district"...this is so funny. She doesn't know the least bit about hard work.

I dont understand why people in the blogging community that already have a fixed notion maintain a blog in the first place. If youre looking for slander, to tear someone down, or further discuss issues you know nothing about, then cry yourself your own river. I can think of many, many, many more people than Capri Cafaro with credentials to question.

The 13th district race will be interesting to watch, and I will vote for the best well-rounded candidate. So far, I have met both John Wolfe and Capri Cafaro. Both candidates have ideas which I agree with. John and Capri are both passionate about issues in Ohio in their own right, as am I. While I think, John is a little too focused on the war in Iraq, Capri seems to have a broader perspective and better grasp on a wider range of issues. She would actually be a good representative, I am surprised to say.

And for the fools out there who don't know how to put two and two together...there is an organization by the name of The United Nations. The headquarters for this organization rest in New York, New York. Capri worked in the Global Aging Council, an organization of the United Nations. It was probably the right thing to do to be in New York while being a part of the organization, otherwise it would be a long commute. However, I understand how people may not notice this when they are so fixated on hating someone they know nothing about. The novice within shines through...

Cafaro didn't pay some of her employees on time and some were not even paid by January. Some of them were even given checks that bounced! How's that being "for the workers"? Especially given the fact that "daddy" is rich and they definetly had the funds to pay the employees?

Hey last Anonymous:

I'm not going to have my blog turn into a bulletin board for anonymously posted libel. If you have a citation for the allegations your post, you have until tomorrow afternoon to post it here. Otherwise, your post is coming down.

Maybe Capri should move back to NY and run against Hilary for Senate. I'm sure her Daddy would front that as well. It too bad the Cafaro family lost their last politician to a Fed prision (Traficant), I guess JJ figured he might as well put his own daughter in the spot for better damage control.

DONT LET THE PEOPLE ON HERE GET TO YOU CAPRI!! you have a lot of fans rooting for you!! My husband and I agree with your views on labor...you have the Perry family vote in the Akron area!(and many more families I am sure)

TV 3 did a story after the 2004 election, showing a bunch of young campaign field staffers for Cafaro protesting the fact that they hadn't gotten paid. I'm sure you can find the story at their website.

So, to address the "Perry family in Akron": I'm sure Capri talks a good game on labor issues, but when it comes time to pay her campaign employees, she can't be bothered.

To make matters worse, her campaign was mostly self-financed. So, it wasn't as if the campaign ran out of money, as her family is probably worth close to a billion dollars.

I will have to look into that Gummo, thanks for the tip. I would suggest listening to Cafaro when she comes to your area. Labor isnt a game, my friend, it's our life! It has been our family's life for decades, and probably will remain. Cafaro is the only candidate I really believe in to do what is right. The others so far..well, less than stellar in what they can do, or have done. Tom Sawyer certainly is not going to be popular, and Betty Sutton has a bad rep here in Summit. So, in a way it is choosing from the lesser of three evils. Thats where Cafaro falls in. Until I have a reason not to suport her, I will not base my vote in this race on speculations in the papers over a story thats been told over and over and over again.

Unbelievable. How corrupt does someone have to be, how tenuous the connections to "their district," how silver-spooned and appalling, for her 14th-- no, 13th Dist "candidacy" to be dismissed?

If we nominate this freakshow, we deserve to lose.

I'd like to see her get some clothes that actually fit and aren't made of polyester.

Put her in a Palm Springs spa for a couple of weeks, shed those extra twenty pounds she's carrying, get some good makeup and THEN run for Congress!
